3 Fancy Ladies Who Became Fancy Founders Out Of Solving Their Own Fancy Problems. (Plus An Inside Look At Linda Rodin.)

FANCY LADY #1 MONICA NASSIF & MRS. MEYERS CLEANING PRODUCTS

Created by Monica Nassif because she was tired of harsh chemicals, medicinal smells of standard products and the lukewarm performance of supposedly ‘green’ products.

And the radish scent actually gets me in the mood to clean!

FANCY LADY #2 SARAH KAUSS & S’WELL THERMOSES & WATER BOTTLES

Created by Sarah Kauss because she didn’t want to contribute to the 50 billion plastic water bottles dumped into landfill every year, but wanted something chicer than the gym friendly BPA free sports bottles.

Not only are S’well bottles beautifully crafted. They keeps drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours.

FANCY LADY #3 LINDA RODIN & RODIN OLIO LUSSIO

Founder of Rodin beauty products and the star of her collection Rodin Olio Lusso – a skin oil packed with luscious natural ingredients sourced by Linda Rodin herself.

Her problem?

On the surface, it doesn’t look like she has any, right? Isn’t she the chicest 68 yr old EVAH?

Rodin was a freelance stylist in New York for over 30 years, and exposed to all kinds of beauty products. But as she got older, she found that none of the products really worked on her skin.

They had harsh ingredients or laboratory chemicals she didn’t want anywhere near her face.

So after years of breaking out, getting rashes and migraines she traced back to cosmetics … Rodin did what any sensible, enterprising, luxury focused lady would do.

She made her own skin treatment.

In a teacup.

In her bathroom.

Traveling the world for photo shoots introduced her to the ingredients she loved most.

Argan oil from Morocco.

Rose oil from Bulgaria.

Neroli from Italy.

So Rodin mixed up a formula that worked for her.

And suddenly EVERYONE was commenting on how glowing and fresh her skin was.

Not how good her skin looked for her age.

How good her skin looked, period.

So Rodin whipped up little bottles for the stylists and models on her shoots … suddenly she had a top shelf luxury skin care business.

(Which was acquired by Estee Lauder in 2014 – still allowing Rodin full control over her own line. For an undisclosed amount. Which means a lot of money.)

The takeaway from this all-natural, essential-oil super-deluxe success story?

: You’re never too old to start something you’re passionate about.

Linda Rodin is just getting started with her dream career – 68 years old, if you need a reminder.

“I think if you’re creative and passionate, then you’re just motivated by the passion and the creativity. It’s not like I’m doing something that I don’t want to do or that doesn’t interest me. So I think the motivation just comes because you’re so excited about what you can create. I think that’s where that comes from.” – Linda Rodin

: There is no problem too small, too strange, or too niche to discard.

If you are obsessed with it, run with it.

: You’re never the only one with that problem.

There are LEGIONS of people with your same problem, just waiting for someone like you to solve it. Chic water bottles, upscale cleaning products, luxury skin oils.

Yeah, we want all of that.
